He was born in 1945 in the Hatipoğlu Neighborhood of Denizli Center as the sixth and youngest child of a middle-class family. After completing his education in 1962, he started his father's profession, sugar and Turkish delight manufacturing and trade. After completing his military service in 1967, he continued his profession as a confectioner. In 1968, he made a change in his business life and started iron and steel manufacturing and trading, even though it was a completely different field and a subject that he knew nothing about. With determination and hard work, he transformed the small business that he started with 10 people into one of the largest companies in Turkey today.
Nevzat Karalp, who caught the Covid-19 epidemic that affected the whole world, succumbed to the disease on December 5, 2020 and passed away. Today, the group of companies, which also includes power plants, continues its activities as a source of pride for our country with the "ALWAYS BETTER" policy.
As of 2023, Kardemir Çelik Sanayi holds the 121st position among Turkey’s top 1000 companies, exporting to over 110 countries. It ranks 110th among Turkey’s top 500 industrial establishments and is 10th among the top 100 industrial establishments in the Aegean Region.
Furthermore, based on data from the Denizli Chamber of Industry, it ranks as the third largest company in Denizli for the year 2023.
